Good question.
I love the feeling just before it starts to rain when a big storm is on it's way. The smell of the rain, the high winds, the darkness. Makes you feel so weak in such a powerful world.
Yet, I also love the first couple minutes after things calm down. I remember as a kid, I'd run outside the minute the rain stopped and collect as many worms as I could for my grandfather's tackle box.

I love the cool down before the rain, I love the refreshing air, after the thunderstorm.

tough question, but I'd have to go with "before." Its exciting, I like excitement. I remember when I was younger my friends and I and my brother and his friends would play "tornado chaser" ans we'd get up into our treehouse (bad move, children, under a tree in a thunderstorm) and play. I moved to a place for college where there aren't many thunderstorms, but back home we get em all the time... summer storms are the best!

Before a thunderstorm= its calm and one can smell the rain coming--after its calm and WET.

Its great like something wicked this way comes love to look at the confused clouds and for downspouts and really like to hear the thunder rumble from far to closer I allways go outside or in the doorway to get a good look.

During and after cause I love the smell of the rain but love the wind before so I guess all of them.

Both. I like the calm before the storm hits, I ABOSLUELEY LOVE THE STORM ITSELF, and I like after, because it is cooled down, Lightning is still there, and rain smells good, and everything is green. (I'm from New Mexico, and we don't get much rain 'till the monsoon hits in July, so everythings and ugly yellow until then.)

Both - both're beautiful.....
I like to see the storm approching with strong winds,clouds & lightnings...and I also love it when everything is done and the earth is soaked and calmed & clear...but most of all I love the smell of soil after the rain - there is something quite beautiful in it...!!!
