New Jack. He would actually slit people with knives and everything. The guy would do the most insane things you could imagine of. I would have to slightly put him over Sabu.
But Terry Funk also deserves credit. He has went through more barbwire, fire, and taken more shots with weapons than most of anyone in the history of hardcore wrestling.
And CM Punk is not really an extreme wrestler, why do you guys even mention him. Granted he has good wrestling skills, but he is definitley not hardcore.

You can make a fair case for alot of guys, Terry Funk, Cactus Jack, Sandman, Tommy Dreamer, but I don't think anyone will ever surpass Sabu. From super gluing his bicep shut in his barbwire match with Terry Funk, to taping his jaw after he hit a guard rail in the Stairway to Hell match with the Sandman to breaking his neck not ONCE, but twice while in ECW. And he hardly missed ANY time because of any of his injuries. He is also one of the most innovative wrestlers ever, I mean the technique of using super glue to temporarily seal cuts has become an accepted, if not recommended, first aid practice in wrestling. Sabu was ECW and ECW was Sabu.

Sabu is a freaking beast, his match with, I think, Tommy Dreamer where they had barb wires for ropes was insane. Sabu, Dreamer and Foley are probably the most extreme wrestlers

At one time I would have said Terry Funk makes all others look like care bears but I ran across this video on YouTube and I have to say that Sabu is the man.

i think that the old ECW replaced into approximately wrestling, which includes hardcore, in spite of if it truly introduced out the potentials that the wrestlers had. there replaced into greater dedication in direction of wrestling and lesser drama. The "new" ECW has a different plot for drama a week. The wrestlers are very almost being transformed, which isn't even their fault by way of fact they'll do as they're meant to as area of their activity. for my area, there are a number of youthful youngsters watching wrestling, if fact be told, I even have been watching episodes the place I see quite some them, even 5-year olds. subsequently, ECW could be attempting to neutralize the violence quite so as that wrestling must be enjoyed by ability of all and sundry; in spite of if, I nonetheless do no longer understand why they might not turn off the diva dramas if that's the case. I completely agree that severe replaced into ideas-set. there have been fewer dialogues and "performs" with definitely conspiracies, in comparison to somebody's conserving a wrestler as a hostage. there replaced into greater action which replaced into the real entertainment.

Yea it has to be Sabu. because during the "barbed wire" match with Terry Funk he taped his arm shut just so the ref wouldn't stop the match.
