Licking the cold sore wont transfer it to the baby. The virus is already in your body. I wouldnt worry about it. Most people have some form or herpes at some point in their life. It doesnt mean that you have genital herpes. I used to get cold sores when I was a kid, but having had one since I was probalby 8, my husband got one about a year and a half ago, and I dont have genital herpes. Genital herpes is the only one that I think you need to worry about, and it can be stoped from transfering to the baby. You would have to have a c-section if you had an outbreak when you went into labour. Relax, it will be fine.

I got clinically diagnosed with genital herpes (type 2) about 5 yrs ago, when I was still attending college and had a silly one-night stand. I realize a lot of people say this, but I swear I had never done that sort of thing before. I just made a huge mistake that one time and all of a sudden I felt like I was going to have to live with the implications for the rest of my life. The worst part was feeling I could never date guys again. After all, who wants to go out with a girl that has sores around her "you know what" area? But since a friend shared this movie https://tr.im/rKw6K everything improved.
Not only was I able to clear away all traces of the herpes virus from my body in less than 3 weeks, but I was also able to begin dating again. I even met the man of my dreams and I'm so lucky to write that just a week ago, in front of everyone in a crowded restaurant, he got down on one knee and proposed to me!! This system gave me back the chance to be happy and experience true love again. Now I want to help others too by sharing this story.

no, you shouldnt have anything to worry bout as long as when your baby is born, when you have the breakout, you make sure not to kiss on the baby and wash hands alot if you have touched the sore! now if you have the genital herpes, you still cant pass it to your baby during pregnancy but the dr should put you on a med (like valtrex) around 36 weeks so that when you go into labor it should help you not have an outbreak. as long as you dont have an outbreak during labor you should be able to have a vaginal birth and the baby be fine. if you have an outbreak during delivery then they would probably do csection! (i know you didnt say anything bout having the genital herpes, i was just adding more info!)

No, only genital herpes can harm a baby. You can't transfer a cold sore on your lip to your unborn child.

Not gonna happen. Calm down. Coldsores aren't going to transfer through your blood to the baby's. The only way to transfer it to the baby is if you still had it after the baby's born and you kissed it. But I'm sure (since you're only 6mo along) that it will long gone by then.

No, it won't transferred to your baby even its a contagious disease. However your immune system is greatly linked with your baby. So do try to inform your General Practitioner that you are pregnant so that he/she wont give you medicine that will affect your baby. At the 6th month your baby has already stabilised but try to increase intake such as high calcium milk, high vitamin B in order to increase your baby's immune system as well as yours. And get well soon by eating your medicine on time! =)
