I am looking for websites that have free knitting stitch patterns. I would love to find as many as I can if there are many out there.

You can also search inside the Harmony series of stitch dictionaries on Amazon. You don't get to see all the stitches, but you can see a good number. The books are pretty good and relatively cheap if you want to just buy them as well.

Here's a link to Volume 2:
http://www.amazon.com/450-Knitting-Stitches-Harmony-Guides/dp/1855856298/ref=pd_bxgy_b_text_b/002-5696929-5100814?ie=UTF8&qid=1173524302&sr=8-2

Volume 1 doesn't let you see any of the patterns in the search inside section, but Volumes 3 and 4 contain more stitches and Volume 5 is Aran stitch patterns. Volumes 6 and 7 are for crochet if you are interested in that too.

The best site for free patterns is www.knittingpatterncentral.com.

If you want some free patterns that are not on the web, go to your local library. I often go to our expensive yarn store and see all the great patterns in 30 dollar books. Then I go home, check to see if that book is on the library (thru the library's website) and put it on reserve until I can go pick it up. IT's almost always at the library.

Good luck!
