My sister was married at 19 and her husband was 21 and they have been married for 35 years. My ex's grandparents were married at 14 and 15 and they stayed married for over 50 years. My husband's sister was married at 14 and her husband was 18 and they have been married for almost 50 years. Most teen marriages don't last. People don't stay together anymore and break up when the least little thing goes wrong.

Don't know the stats but my uncle and aunt were married when they were 16/17 and they are still together...and had 5 kids to boot. Amazing! Too bad my uncle is still a turd even after 30 odd years of being married. No idea why my aunt has stuck around with him.

Hubby and I just celebrated 19 years this February.
I was 18 and he was 21. We had a rough patch,
but sought counseling and work thru it.
Marriage is not easy- there will be times when it
takes alot of work. If you care about it enough,
you will try every avenue before calling it quits,
not only for any kids involved but to each other.
I don't regret marrying him, but sometimes regret
marrying so young. I never had any time to be "me"-
which is prob why we ended up in counseling.
I went from being my parents daughter to my
husbands wife. No time to really discover me.

Probably more than we realize.
The bad marraiges get the publicity. The good ones don't.
Obviously you took your vows seriously.
By the way, only 35 years? You're just beginners! You're both someone to look up to.
