I am not sure whether or not you will be tested. The reason for this is because you will be getting your citizenship because you are marrying an American. However, just in case you do have to take a test, then it is best if your boyfriend checks with the immigration office and finds out what will be on the test before you start studying the wrong stuff. I know that they usually give you an American history quiz, but it is usually quite easy and based on general questions. (Presidents, holidays, special events, etc...)

This is the address to the American Immigration site.
You will see a link at the top that says "Marriage". Click on that and you will be able to read about everything that must be done to make you an American Citizen. I'm really sorry that I don't have time right now to check it out myself for you, but there is a lot to read through and I'm pretty busy with work.

Yes, in order to come to the United States and get married you have to learn American History, American Government, Biology, Chemistry and Physics. There is a series of tests in English and grammar and arithmetic. You have to show a high aptitude and IQ to marry a man in the states.

No, you will not be tested to marry him, BUT, if you want to become a naturalized American Citizen, yes, you will have to learn American history, and you will be tested. Marrying an American is not a free ticket to citizenship.

Cristy F be nice to the girl, you don't have to learn anything that you don't want too but its a good idea for you to know the history so you don't go around saying "I don't know I don't know" and seem ignorant and if you do decide to become an a citizen you wont have to study, so he is doing you a favor so take the grin off your face and be proud.

If you don't become a citizen of the U.S. then imigration CAN deport you...especially if you're only marrying to get into the U.S. They can also arrest your husband and toss his butt into federal prison. So my adivce sweets would be for you to study very hard that American History and take the citizen ship test...your you may find your butt back in Asia and his in prison.
