why was evangelion so controversial?
yeah it was a weird anime, excelent show even, but I understood the plot.
maybe it was because I was up for over 36 hours and watched the entire show in one sitting, and when I'm up all night things tend to make sense.

Evangelion was controversial because it touches sensible themes like religion or the meaning of our existence.
And there is the fact that IS anime and they always have a softcore sex allusions.

If you really watch it no one will understand that anime. Its has own very complicated story. And about God too. In fact many otaku in japan suicide because their hear and understand one of Evangelion OST. True Story!!!

Controversial?! Never thought of it that way. Religion , the theory that we were supossed to be attacked by angels , instead the traditional belief is that they are a thing of holy beauty and peace , i don't know.

I think because of the religious overtones NGE had *even the monsters were called "Angels". But, I agree, NGE is one of the best animes I have watched *it's in my Top 5 list*

I used to watch this show but it came on to late. I started liking it but is it good? would it be worth buying? can you buy it?
