My mom would layer like three blankets on top of me and I would take a nap. Then I would wake up all sweaty and red.....I'm like: 'It's hot!' haha. There were times when I had a cold and my body temp would actually go up into a fever temp at night. I'm grateful because my mom and brother went to buy some Advil for me at around 11 P.M

My grandmother actually sponged me down in vinegar...ick. Mine tried the "sweat it out" thing, too, with all kinds of blankets. The blanket thing is not a good idea. It can actually raise the temperature. Tylenol, Advil (doesn't work as fast), and/or a lukewarm bath are all good ideas.

My mom would come into the room in the middle of the night and rub my body down with alcohol to cool my body temp.

She would give my children's Tylenol, put me in a bubble bath, and let me stay in my pj's in bed all day. At night she'd bundle me up with blankets and read to me until I fell asleep : )
Now days, doctors say it's not good to "sweat it out". It can actually elevate your temperature, which isn't good for your organs. So when my son is sick, I follow basically the same routine my mom did for me, except I put him to bed in a t-shirt and light covers.

Make me stay inside under a blanket. If it was painful then I would take a dose of acetemetaphen.

Made me get in my pajamas and stay on the couch and watch tv forever. I could only eat stuff that was easy to digest.
