Yes, and I was SO wrong. A lot of very cerebral or smart people do not use their body or wardrobe to impress others. Their bodies are mostly a vehicle for containing or carrying their mind or soul. It's just their ride.

Yes-it's a fact of life. No one can honestly say that they have never "judged a book by its cover." If I see a person with different colored, brightly hued hair, I'm not going to hire them for a job. It's not me being mean, it's just human nature. All of you out there that disagree, I'll send the crazy haired people your way for a job. I'm not saying that it's OK to judge people, but it's a part of human nature to do so. We all have first impressions and they may be wrong, but what we see first is what we judge by.

no.. maybe if they looked like someone funny off a TV show (e.g. Kramer from Seinfield)

but, generally no.. even the funniest looking people can be taken seriously (most of the smartest professors aren't that great looking)..

It depends on the circumstances, but yes. You should see what some of the other attorneys I deal with wear to court. Sometimes it is rather disrespectful and many times their dress is reflective of how they practice law.
