The two processes that would lead an intrusive rock body to be exposed at the surface would be erosion and uplift.

So... If a granitic rock body (granits are intrusive) is exposed at the surface it implies both erosion and uplift. There are some cases where uplift plays very little role in exposing an intrusive body (like the Grand Canyon for example), but usually you need both erosion AND uplift to expose an intrusive body.

A silisic magma body cooled slowly underground untill it hardened into rock. Then errosion occured and the plutonic grantite body became uncovered at the surface. ex Sierra Nevada mountains.
