Buy the book "What to Expect When You're Expecting" It will answer any question you could possibly have. I have 3 kids-I read it cover to cover several times with each pregnancy. You can get the book at Wal-mart in the baby dept. or book dept.-or a book store. It is a great book.

Congratulations on your pregnancy! A great website that you can great info from is listed below. Every thing from what to eat and what not to do to what to expect with each month and even a week by week section. Also you can go to area that interest you for those questions that you haven't even had yet. The best thing to remember though is that if it really isn't healthy for you - it's really not healthy for the baby. The big thing is to follow Dr's instructions. Also if you use over the counter meds - check with your Dr first - no matter how safe you might think they would be. even things like Motrin are a NO-NO. Good luck and don't stress out about being the "wonder mom" or the "perfect pregnant woman" just enjoy it. The baby will be here before you know it .
Take care and Enjoy your pregnancy

The more varied diet you have while pregnant, the more you'll be able to eat while breastfeeding (because your baby will have already been exposed to the flavors through amniotic fluid).
If you're a big fish eater you'll need to limit your intake while pregnant.
Cold cuts have the risk of listeria, so you'll want to heat them until they steam before you eat them to kill the bacteria.
Unpasteurized cheeses are another no-no during pregnancy--also because of the risk of listeria.
At this point keep up with your normal workout routine (unless its excessively stressing). At some point later in pregnancy you won't be able to do sit-ups, but for now they're still fine.
Everyone else covered the no smoking, no drinking.
Limit caffeine intake.
Here's a great pregnancy resource for you: www.babycenter.com/pregnancy You can even sign up to receive weekly emails throughout your pregnancy.

Congratulations! I just had my baby 5 months ago, so here are some things that I was told or that I read. Don't smoke, don't drink alcohol. It's probably a good time to start thinking about staying away from sports or hobbies that you have a chance of falling or getting hit in the abdomen. Eat good foods that are high in protein, drink plenty of water, and stay away from sugar as much as possible. I know, easier said than done. =) Try to get lots of sleep! Don't stress out too much. Again congrats and have fun!

I don't know what you mean when you say your not sure what you're going to do, but while you are pregnant, there are definitely many changes you should make. Hopefully you know not to drink alcohol or smoke. You should also avoid deli meat, soft cheeses, and any unpasturized dairy foods (because of the risk of Lysteria). You should also avoid fish due to mercury and other contaminents. You will be given prenatal vitamins but it never hurts in increase your intake of folic acid so eat lots of green leafy veggies and drink plenty of orange juice. Other than food, you should also be resting often and avoiding stress. If you exercise already, continue to so do with common sense modifications, otherwise discuss your exercise plans with your doctor first.

The #1 thing for you to do is....................take a deep breathe. You do not say if you were expecting this baby or not but you are wanting to make sure and stay healthy for you and the baby!! That I say GREAT FOR YOU!! relax...Did you hear that?? Relax. Let others pamper you. It will only last about 9 months and then you will be very busy:). One important thing for me was to write down questions as I thought of them for the DR. and then I handed him the paper. No ?? is too stupid to ask. I am sure they have heard it all before. Ask someone about tuna. I am not sure if you can eat tuna or not. Read all of the book..what to expect...and everyone else hit on all of the don'ts already. Good luck and congrats!!

Congratulations. A baby is a gift from God...and lots of women wish they were in your shoes.
You should get a check-up before too long...so the doctor can tell you what to look out for.
Just eat healthy, don't drink or smoke or do drugs...very bad for the baby. You can start taking some vitamins, or the doctor will tell you some to take....And do all things in moderation....don't "over-do" is a good policy to follow. You are now taking care of two of you!

Obviously avoid drinking, smoking, drugs.
Replace caffeinated beverages with water (you'll need the flouride for the child's teeth). Also caffeine is passed onto your baby and increases your risk for ulcers. Chocolate also contains caffeine, so limit it or cut it out.
If you have cats, you shouldn't be anywhere near their feces as they carry a bacteria especially harmful to unborn babies. Make someone else change the litter box.
Others:
Soft cheeses - listeria
Raw fish/meat - bacteria
Fish - high levels of mercury transferred to baby
Also do exercise still, just not overly-strenuously, get plenty of rest, and congratulations :)

Stop worrying first off, there are a great many things that people will tell you not to do. I found that everything went great with my pregnancy and all I made absolutely sure to do was cut down on caffiene and spicy stuff (might get heartburn). Can excerise till you get too big to do so. If you do. Walking great! Try n'stay off sleeping on your back if possible, sides are better. Check with your doc, which you should get ASAP., if you have any specific questions.
