emo is short for emotional. emo is a broad title that covers a lot of different styles of emotionally-charged punk rock.

Emo people are people who are like gothics and hate life. the word "EMO" comes from "Emotional". personally, they should feel lucky to be alive.

Emo" is not short for "Emotional." "Emo" does not mean Taking Back Sunday and Dashboard Confessional, despite what MTV has lead you to believe in the last few years. "Emo" is not sidebangs, tight pants, and male vocalists who sing like little girls about their failed relationships. "Emo" is not the use of diluted, meaningless metaphors and similes such as "My arms are like pinecones," and most definitely is not the rampant use of words such as "autumn," "heart," "knife," "bleeding," "leaves," and "razorblade."

Emo..... is a state of mind, not a statement of clothing. You could be a jock but you could constantly slit your wrists and want to DIE! An emo kid is emotional. VERY EMOTIONAL! EXPLOSIVELY EMOTIONAL!!! To be an emo kid, you must not only wish to die, but you must attempt to kill yourself. An emo kid.... in any other words, is a depressed teenager who has too much time on his or her hands.

Guys wear girls pants, weird black hair that is long in front and short in the back. Girls wear hair in their faces and usually it is black. Sometimes they wear these two little pig tails. All their clothing is trendy and it is cool to make your nails look dirty from the supposed "heroine" your doing because you are depressed. Look up bright eyes, most guys dress to look like him (conor oberst). It's cool if your into that kind of thing but it is mainly a teenage deal.
