One of my best friends got her first boyfriend about 2 months ago. We're 17 and juniors in high school. Since they started going out she's completely ditched us. I completely understand that they'll of course spend a lot of time together, and that they're still in the stage of the relationship where they can't get enough of each other, but she's gone overboard. Even if she doesn't have plans with him, she turns down our invitations to go to lunch or go out on the weekends, because she'd rather wait and see if he'll ask her to do something. It wouldn't be so bad if it wasn't every single time without fail. I seriously have hung out with her maybe once since they started going out, despite asking her if she wanted to do stuff lots of times. And we were pretty much best friends. Another friend tried to ask her about it, but she got pissed off saying "don't even go there" and pretty much denied she was doing it. I miss my friend! How can we get her back?

This. believe it or not, happens all the time. A girl meets a guy she likes & wants to impress him & show him he is her everything, even if that means ditching her friends. Truth is, she is probably so infatuated with the guy she doesnt realise how it is affecting her mates.
Just wait for her to come around. If she doesnt, then she was never a real friend in the first place. Tough to take but true. Just be sure to let her know you understand & will be there for her when she needs you...if thats what you want. Otherwise, make some new friends & make it clear to them you dont want to be shoved to the side if they meet a guy they become fascinated with.

ah....tough call.

she is obviously not use to the juggling time with friends and boyfriend. and is just choosing the boyfriend.

she is spending most of her time with the guy because she wants to. its her choice, she knows what she is doing.

if she doesnt want to hangout then just go hangout with other friends. or dare i say it? get yourself a man! and you'll forget all about your little friend.
