Yes, I took the test online. I don't think the results were accurate, but I wanted to know how good 126 was.
Thank you everyone who explained things so nicely. ^^

An IQ test score would be skewed for a 13 year old, unless it was administered by a professional, but in this case, I am guessing it was taken quickly on some sort of website, which are usually skewed higher to convince the person to buy their 'full report' or whatnot. However, a 126 on an IQ test is quite good for anyone, including a 13 year old, because 100 is the average, and 140 is technical genius. However, an IQ test shouldn't be the only measure of smarts.

126 IQ doesn't mean anything different for a 5yo or a 99yo. 100 is an average IQ--actually, anything from something like 85-115 is now considered average--and anything above that is above average. It is a score based on how well you did for your age. But an IQ score actually doesn't mean anything since different IQ tests have different ceilings. It'd be best to know the percentile. 126 on one test might be the equivalent of 115 on another or 145 on another. The percentile actually tells you how many people score higher and lower than you.

The IQ test indicates how well you perceive things. It doesn't necessarily tell you how smart you are or whether or not you will be successful. 126 is good no matter what age you are but I'd expect it should go up a little bit after you get out of school and introduced to real life situations. Keep up the good work.

Maybe.

There are many kinds of intelligence tests. It would be normal for a person who scored 126 on one, to score much higher or lower on others.

What's more important is the percentile rank, because it tell you how your score compares to all takers of that test.

Also, if this is a free test you have taken on the web, the results are largely meaningless.

it is really sad that a test examiner told you your numerical result and did not take the time to explain what it meant.
