chicken or fish

Children's digestive systems are ready for meat by 8 months of age. In fact by 9 months of age a baby is ready for cut-up food and not puree. By 11 months of age your baby is ready to eat the same food that you are eating just watch the salt levels and avoid stronger spices. The safest meats to give first are chicken or turkey, after that you can introduce lamb and ground beef. You shouldn't given fish until after 1 year as this is a high allergen food. Hold off on all shellfish until after age 3 for the same reason. Have fun...once you introduce meat mealtime is much easier to prepare for the family.

People really should not answer when they don't know what they are talking about...
Your baby is old enough to start on pureed meats found in the baby food section and very, very small pieces of thouroughly cooked chicken, beef, pork, lamb, fish, turkey pretty much everything. Although you should avoid meats that are very tough, like rump roast or pork chops. Slice up some deli ham or turkey or chicken breast slices and serve with a slice of cheese and some crackers for a hearty snack or include a veggie for a nutritious lunch. My daughter (18 months) still loves Oscar Meyers honey ham with a slice of american cheese, rolled up, for an afternoon snack. As long as baby has a few front teeth and the meat is cooked and tender and sliced small, it's time to start with meats.

My baby (she's 8 1/2 months) eats any meat that I eat. I don't eat much beef, as it is irritating to my belly, so she doesn't get much of that. But, my midwife said it is perfectly fine for her to have meat, in fact, she told me that it should be one of her first foods. Teagan eats chicken, ham, porkchops, a tiny bit of fish, turkey, etc. I bite the peices off myself, sometimes i chew it a little (she has no teeth yet) and she eats it like a pro. I'm actually surprised at what she can mow down with no teeth in her mouth!!

My daughter started eating meat at 10 months. Ignore the ignorant people who say they are too young.(My daughter is 15 months now and just fine) I feed her mostly chicken and turkey and occasionally red meat. I cook her red meat in broth so it is tender enough for her to chew and swallow. My only caution to you would be fish. Be careful of the amount and type because some contain too much mercury for small children.

I thought this sounded crazy but this is actually what my Dr. reccommended to me. Meat should be one a babies first foods at 6 months old! Iron fortified rice cereal and then meat, slow cooked and pureed. Personnally I couldn't bring myself to give my 6 month old meat so I gave him chick peas and lentils stuff that is full of protein. Your 11 month old should be able to handle any meat you choose to give them first, just make sure its cooked throughly and small enough that its not a choking hazard.

The same meat and vegetables that you eat!
Just put the meat in the blender with some vegetables.
It is that simple!

My daughter gagged on meat. We figured out that it wasn't the food, it was the texture. She was okay with the broth flavour.

To get her to accept it, I started with chicken broth. Then flavoured chinese rice porridge with the broth. Then chicken with the porridge. Grind and chop very finely.

After that, fish, then red meat.

i dont think you should give any meat to a 11 year old child becuase their organisms are not fully developed yet. This will cause your baby to have dihareea or vomit. You should wait until the baby is 1 and ahalf years old. ANy meat by then is okay for the baby, just make sure is soft.
