I presume from the category you chose that you are in college. Does your library have access to Jstor? That is a database that can help you find scholarly articles on a number of topics. Almost all college libraries have it. Ask them! It is really easy to use. Just making a quick, simple search I found a handful of articles and book suggestions. There are way too many to list here, and they vary in specifics so much. I am not sure what you are looking for. That said, you can easily find them yourself using Jstor. Just check in with your library and they should be able to help you.

Have you read the book "Cannibals: The Discovery and Representation of the Cannibal from Columbus to Jules Verne" by Frank Lestringant; Rosemary Morris? Another book that may or may not help you is "Religion in Context: Cults and Charisma." by I. M. Lewis. It depends specifically on what you want to know. Believe it or not, but your topic is pretty broad!

I would like to put out a suggestion:

I suggest that you aren't finding scholarly articles because the topic is highly biased. Many cultures were claimed to be cannibal cultures but in fact this is myth and/or cultural stereotype.
