Most dreams have no profound meaning while some of our dreams are a way of dealing with personal issues and/or problems which we cannot handle on a conscious level; therefore, in our dream state the subconscious mind is free to tackle these things with complete abandon. Other dreams can be prophetic or prove quite meaningful but only the person who is dreaming can accurately discern the specific dream. Dream books are a complete waste of time and money so if you know and understand yourself well, you can interpret your dream alone or with the assistance of someone who you feel close to and can trust.

Most dreams have no meaning what so ever, however, some do. Post it here and someone might be able to help.
Death means you've come to a design and so does falling off a cliff
Divorce is the same - coming to a decision and not necessarily about your relationship
Flying or propelling means you have oobe capabilities (out of body experiences)
Hope this helps a little. All dreams are subject to interpretation by the interpreter. And, again, most have no meaning at all.

There are hundreds, maybe thousands, of books written on the subject. And reading may become a nightmare as there are as many opinions on how to interpret dreams as there are books written.
Myself, I believe that dreams are a way for the brain, or parts of, to entertain itself while there is very little stimulus.
