Ahhh. I'm taking this ridiculous online AP US History course that has an AWFUL textbook!!! Please help me with this question:

Which nation gained control of East Berlin after World War II?

I think it's the USSR, but I'm not sure... (The sad thing is, the textbook doesn't say a single thing about the berlin wall?!?! crazy huh? Don't even get me started on how horrible it is...)

I am going to go out on a limb here....the Question was-
What Country gained control of East Berlin after WW2

Now "During" WW2 the USSR did have control of East Berlin,as well as All of Eastern Germany ,up to the Elbe river, as per the Yalta/ Postdam conference.
But, as related to your question..Actual control
of East Berlin came under the DDR s Influence DDR =
(East)German Democratic Republic,or East Germany. The DDR became a Nation in Oct.,1949.
Obviously.East Germany was a Soviet (USSR) Sattelite,
But East Germany was a Legitimate Nation,True?
So, i am going to go with East Germany as the Answer.
Technically,the USSR was responsible for East Berlin,as the Allied council called for when the City was Occupied.
As for the Berlin Wall,on the night of August 13, 1961, East German troops sealed the border between West and East Berlin and started to build the Berlin Wall, literally and physically enclosing West Berlin. The Order was Given by the East German President Wilhem Pieck to stop the citizens from leaving East Germany.

The Soviet Union controlled east Berlin post WW2. It was reunited with west Berlin on October 3, 1990. Keep in mind that the Berlin wall was not constructed until 1961 so it's not suppose to be included anywhere in the book until latter chapters. If you don't mind I ask: What's the name of the book?

You are correct. USSR took control of East Berlin. They also built the Berlin Wall.
