You should not go to a vet at petsmart. Most of their vets, although good, are not exotic animal or small animal vets. You should do a search in your area and make sure that you take the animal to an exotic vet. The cost, depending on what is wrong will be a little pricey. You are probably looking at around 50 bucks for the vistit and maybe 50-75 for xrays and then if anything is wrong, they would have to fix that. It is really all in a matter of what you are willing to spend. I know it seems tough, but I don't think that you would be on here asking that kind of question if you didn't really care. I have to take my chinchilla every three months for teeth filing. It does become quite expensive (around 250.00) per visit, but it sure beats the cost in the long run if I let it go and it gets really bad. The first time that it happened, I didn't know what was wrong and it wound up costing me like 1200.00 at one time. I would definitely take him. Only you know if something is wrong.

Just take him to the vet. No matter the cost...most vets will set you up on a payment plan if the bill is really large.
Vet's in my area run from about 40-60 bucks a visit. This does not include shots or medication.
Good luck and get him checked out!

You can call the vet and get an estimate on the general visit. The cost varies depending on what type of animal, what is being done, location, etc... Expect a 1st visit to cost more, most vets charge a $25 (or more) extra fee for first time clients (per animal, not owner).

I live in Ohio, and a normal office visit at my vet costs $30. That does not include anything that needs to be done, for example vaccinations, ear cleaning, meds if your pet is sick, etc. Look in your phone book under veterinarians and call around. They should be able to provide you with an estimated cost for a visit and other services you might need. Remember, cost is not everything. You want to make sure you have a vet that cares.

PetsMart vets are corporately owned and are money driven. Best advice is to use a small, privately owned clinic.. perhaps in a shopping strip center (low overhead) to get the best deal. Most vets are happy to discuss their pricing.... except at PetsMart.

It depend,s on what you want done.like have your pet get his or her yearly check up and shot,s ,it really depend,s on what is wrong with your pet and each vet.varies in price,s.and what all they would have to do to your pet ,say it is sick, they would have to check him out ,give him medicine for what ever is wrong with him andyou really need to call and ask wht they charge then you will know for sure that way.

Call and ASK THEM how much. But actually, you probably would be better off going to a doctor for humans.
