It's probably just hormones, but talk to your doctor. Diarrhea can have lots of causes.
In the meantime ... A funny thing about Metamucil (which is safe during pregnancy) is that it actually works both ways. If you've got the runs, it absorbs the liquid and slows things down; and if you're constipated, it helps move things along. It might be worth a shot -- but keep in mind it can give you a bit of gas, too.

I'm pretty sure that you aren't suppose to take Pepto Bismol while you are pregnant. There isn't much you can take other than Tylenol. Call your doctor or your clinic's OB dept about what they think. Just make sure that you are drinking your fluids (water), not soda pop or sugar filled juice (those can make it worse). Diarrhea can cause dehydration. Also I found that when I had morning sickness, I threw up when my stomach was empty. Try to eat several mini meals through out the day. Good luck and just know that the nausea will probably last only the 1st trimester or so.

Sounds like what happend to me hon, didn't throw up but had a lot of nausea and diarreha. Don't take Pepto, your Doc can give you a list of things to take that are safe. Rolaids are ok for the upset stomach though. When in doubt always ask.

is it just in the morning, or all day? pepto bismol is very mild, but being that you are pregnant you should ask a doctor. When my wife was pregnant her doctor asked her to inquire with him before she used any over the counter meds, especially if you are on prescription meds already.

Pepto is not recommended during pregnancy, it carries some risks. However, if it's bad enough a better alternative would be Immodium. I would only take a minimum amt. though. I would call my dr. or if you don't have one yet, call a local hospital and ask to speak to an OB nurse and ask if Immodium is ok to take just to make sure.

it is normal to feel nauseous all the time
you dont have to throw up
have smaller meals which are not spicy or oily
try to avoid taking medications - suck a mint instead
if you do find the need to take/use something, use a travel sickness bracelet or consult yr doctor
under no circumstances should u take ANY medication watsoever without prior consultation with yr doctor - this applies right thro out yr pregnancy
congrats :)

i wouldn't take pepto until you've spoken with your doctor. I had terrible morning sickness both times and they prescribed me a suppository. Burned like it had jalapenos in it but i forgot about my upset tummy! You could also call and speak to a pharmacy they would be able to tell you what to take. Good luck!

I would speak with your doctor before taking any medicine as it can be harmful to the baby. I did have diarrhoea at times, more out of extra hormones and nervousness than anything else. Perhaps its what you are eating to combat the nausea? Good luck!

I never felt nauseous but I sure did have the other problem of diarrhea. My midwife told me that I was allowed to take Imodium but if one dose did not help to call her. It always worked for me the first dose. I hope this helps you some!
