I have used the products for decades!
For the average person they are affordable.
As a non professional make up person I give the products a thumbs up!

Yes. Some of the Cover Girl products are really good. Try the new makeup that is being promoted by Christie Brinkley.
Avoid the mascaras -- go with Maybelline.

Cover girl is the only make-up I will use. I think it has actually improved my skin over the years. It is silky smooth good quality. I really like the colors and packaging too. See if you can try a sample of something if you are not sure. Good luck.

It depends on which product you are talking about.
Their blush and eye color is good. Their foundation always smelled like Noxzema to me. The smell is ok if you are washing your face, but who wants to smell like that otherwise? Maybe they have changed this since I used it.
I think Great Lash by Maybelline is one of the best mascara's on the market. It has the pink bottom and the green lid that holds the brush. Carmendy, the make up artist on What Not to Wear uses this mascara on the makeovers. They do not advertise it, but I see her with the mascara tube (the color is too bright not to notice.)
Face powder? Well, I always like to "powder my nose" as it gets shiny. I think their face powder also smells like Noxzema. I would try a different brand of this. Maybe Cornsilk.

It is a stand up product for its era and users, but there are more improved things on the market I dont like it as much and demand a better quality. It works for some and it for others it does not.

Some of their products are good-I like their nail polish, bronzer, lipsticks, glosses, concealers and they make good mascaras. I don't care for their shadows too much, but they're OK for the money. It's a pretty good brand for drugstore.

Yes i would say its a very good products you can buy it cheap from target because they have very good cover ups for any color skin and they have very good lip gloss that can stay on for more then 8 hours

It has been around for a long time and is a bargain compared to other brands. I have sensitive skin and am able to use all of their products. Try Walgreens, they have it 50% off lots of times.

i love their concealers and face powders...it seems to stay on all day. i really don't care for the liquid foundation or the mascara. to me it seems like the liquid foundations starts looking bad after a few hours and the mascara seems to clump up my eyelashes making them look thin.

that is the only brand other than specialty brands like ulta or sephora i use
i love their shadows and mascara the most
