At his age sterilizing his bottles once a week to 2 weeks should be fine depending on the bottles you use. If you use the Vent-Air bottles then i would suggest once a week because the milk needs to be throughly cleaned from the holes in the bottom of the system. If using a regular bottle or ones with bags once every 2 weeks should be fine.

No - you must clean and sterilize them everyday.
But all you have to do to sterilize your bottles is to
separate the teet from the rest of the bottle,
place it in a basket on the top rack
and switch the dishwasher onto the Heat Dry cycle
You don't need the microwave sterilizer or chemicals to do that job.

I would stick to once a day so that he doesn't get thrush... it was very hard for me and my daughter to get rid of and she got it when she was just over 5 months old... she took 1 bottle a day and I nursed her the rest of the time... We continued to transmit it back and forth and after 2 and 1/2 months we got it under control-- but it took meds and sterilizing everything (pacifiers, bottles, nipples, teethers, breast pump parts) once a day. I'd just rather not go through that again-- so I still sterilize everything daily and she's now 9 months.

As a precaution particular. As they grow previous you do no longer could be particularly so in contact approximately micro organism. Alot of folk use the dishwasher. i think of the sterilizer is in simple terms as ordinary.in case you have a steamer you additionally can jsut use that and steam the bottles for 7 min. or so. it particularly is an identical concept because of the fact the sterilizer. I wash the bottles out till now I placed them interior the dishwasher, because of the fact the soy formula is greasy and sticks to the nipples, so its in simple terms as plenty artwork because of the fact the sterilizer. settle for the sterilizer is faster and would not require you to run the dishwasher diverse situations by the day. i ended sterilizing now that my daughter is close to to 10 months and is eating issues off the floor. Whats the element! whilst they're nonetheless knew you could take extra measures to completely sparkling their bottles and pacifiers.

when my son was first born. i did the same thing sterilized them, each day i would line up eight or so and then fill them and refrigerate the formula filled bottles. when my second son came i was busy and just washed them out good using the dishwasher and filled them with powder formula each time he needed a bottle as long as they came out of the dishwasher i knew they was clean. i think it is OK to do it less often , as long as they are cleaned each day. do you have a dishwasher? and microwaving the formula in the microwave heats up the bottle will kill germs. but is dangerous because your baby will get hot spots from the formula. some of the formula might be hot and you wouldn't know it. good luck and congratulations on your bundle of joy , my sons are 20 &18 years old now oh how time flys by

My son is now 23 mths and we are still sterilizing his milk bottles! I guess I won't stop unless he quit his bottle. When he was less than 1 year he often get throat thrust and fungal infection in the mouth. And because of that, he doesn't drink much milk and water. Sterlizing helps to prevent these illness and helping him to grow healthier. I guess it also depends on the environment in which your child grow up at and his ability to adjust.

According to my paediatrician when the baby starts to put things in their mouth, that's when the sterilizing is no longer required. I still cleaned them very well but no longer sterilized them at around 5 months myself.
