I remember in grammar school when I would reach up to 101 degrees and the teacher would send me to the nurse and my mom would pick me up. Then I had to take liquid medicine (BLEH) and would throw up. When I feel like crap, I still go. Damn me and my perfect attendance ha ha

That was me. I remember one morning back in high school where I was taking notes and all of the sudden I had this crippling headache that felt like you got shot in the head 400 times. I didn't go to the nurse because I was determined to go through the school day w/o having to go home and miss the work. This headache got worse and worse as the week went on where it got to the point where I had to walk very slowly otherwise I would get dizzy from walking too fast. But I still didn't go home. Friday rolls around and the headache is now at the worst stage. I go to school like normally and was headed up the steps to the second floor and fell backwards down the stairs and suffered a concussion. Now when I'm sick I take the freakin' day off.

In 10th grade, I (along with a dozon or so family members) got food poisoning from turkey at thanksgiving. I was out of school for a couple days from that. From then until graduation, I was never absent again. Now I'm in my third year of college and I have skipped 2 or 3 days outright, but have cut class many times.

I'd stay home.

In Middle and High school I stayed home as much as possible.

In my senior year, the principal pulled me aside one day and told me that if I missed another day I would not graduate. I laughed at him (I was valedictorian.) Of course, I didn't take any chances, I was involved in a lot of school clubs, so I organized field trips and entered competitions so I ended up missing about half of the remaining month of school.

Because I work with kids(I do life skills training and respite for parents that have kids with developmental disabilities and health issues), I get to take time off when I'm sick (not a cold though :( But it sucks when pay day comes around! The one child I work with has cystic fibrosis, and I had a respiratory infection, and his mother got mad that I took the day off. It made me sick that she was so worried about having time to herself that she didn't care about putting her son's health in jeopardy : (

haha...I was a good student...I'd go no matter what. I remember one time I threw up and my dad booked off work to stay home with me and then I decided to still go to school and he was like "Well what the heck am I supposed to do now!?"...oops =S...then of course I would come home and throw up again. yeah...

I looked for any excuse to miss school. Work is a little different though, I have to go to work when I am sick.
