My daughter got into some trouble as a teenager, had a party invited 8 people and 50 showed up. She blew a double o but got a Misdemeanor. Well of course no one will hire her. Is it worth it for her to go to college, or is finding a job after that going to be just as impossable?

Ted Kennedy killed a woman and he's a United States senator. Your daughter's life is not ruined by some silly thing she did. How old was your daughter when this happened? If she was under the age of 18 (17 in some states) it goes off her record at 18. If not she should just go to college and move forward with her life. Employers may look down on her now as she doesn't have formal education. Once she goes to school and gets a degree nobody will care. Please do not let her blow off college just because of this!

on an application it only asks if you were ever charged with a felony.. the answer in this case is NO...
She has no reason to be not getting jobs because of this.. It must be something else or the whole town knows about her and will not hire her because of the rumors.
College is always best. She may need to find a job outside of the town your in to get started...

What is the misdemeanor for? A misdemeaner is nothing anyway. I wouldn't worry about it too much. Obviously she didn't get the charge for underage drinking since she blew 0 so was it a disturbing the peace/disorderly conduct? Is she only charged or convicted? What exactly are we looking at here?

Having a misdemeanor on her record shouldn't affect her getting a job or going to college.

She's a juvenile. No One needs to, or can find out about, her record unless she reveals it.

So shut up about it already!
