Dark circles are caused by lack of sleep, vitamin deficiency, genetics, and darkened blood vessels around the eyes that show through due to thinner skin around the eyes.
Pond's Age Defeye has worked wonders on my circles, and it's only $8 or so at Target. I'd try it before you go spending $95+ on Hylexin. Cool compresses can help as well. Also, take a multivitamin to make sure you're getting everything you need.
Also, strange as it seems, my circles seem to get worse when I sleep over 8 hours. You might want to try getting just 8 for a while (if you start to feel crappy, go back to whatever you had before).
To cover them up, buy a concealer that's one shade lighter than your skin (Covergirl makes a great one, and has online reps to help you find the right shade at covergirl.com). Dot it gently on the darkened area, blend, then pat powder over it. Highlighting the inner corner of your eye with white shadow can also help you look more awake.
Good luck!

There are many causes of dark circles, from age, heredity, allergies, cold or sinus infection, bone structure and glasses which are not so commonly known.

If you would like to apply home remedies to reduce dark circles, here are some of my suggestions:
Buy a box of regular, old fashioned unflavored gelatin (e.g. Knox) from grocery store. Take a small cup or bowl and put in 1 teaspoon of the gelatin mix. Add one tablespoon of boiling water & stir for a minute. Test it on your wrist to make sure it is not too hot. Then, using a cotton ball, pat it under your eyes as you would an eye cream or gel. Go lie down and listen to some music, or take a bath & let it stay on for at least 30 minutes. Then just rinse it off.Gelatin is very high in Vitamin K & Biotin. It will not remove your dark circles on the first application (but you will notice a difference), but if you do it daily for a week, and then 2-3 times a week for maintenance, you should notice a drastic reduction in dark circles.

You can try drinking more water? I heard that Juice has an undereye cream that works well. I think its about 40 bucks, I can't remember. You can go into a sephora and ask someone to help you. Or you can check out www.sephora.com

Actually i use to have bad circles under my eyes cause of the shifts i pulled in the army but if you stick a couple spoons in the freezer and then stick them under your eyes it will take the swelling away.. then the new dermapods by olay work for clearing black circles away..
And ur getting to much sleep. Get about 8hours or less sleep and that will help your eyes

Just get a concealer and put 3 dots under each eye and rub it in and then put a bit of shimmery white eyeshadow over top!
It should work, but if not then get some strong circle cream!

I have never heard of Hylexin before, so I haven't tried it. I also have a problem with dark circles, I bought an eye cream that is just like lotion that you put around your eyes before you go to bed and it seems to be improving. I also use a stick concealer in the mornings to cover it up before i put on the rest of my makeup and that seems to cover them.

Do NOT use Hylexin. Why waste all that money? It's much easier to just get a undereye circle corrector. The best one is at Sephora, but it's $75:

If you don't want to pay that, use other things from Sephora.

Before you try that, try this. It's not that expensive. Try going to CVS or Walgreens. They have this really good eye gel that worked miracles for me. It's a viamin K gel.
