I think if you can get that close to any of them they will. They have some special games that they call Autograph game and many will sign a purchased shirt or hockey stick.. I think u are lucky if you get anyone to sign anything these days.

Yes and no. Regular games are fairly controlled. You can't get near the players at the end of the game.
They do have games that are set aside where they do do autographs though.
Your best bet is to watch their website and look for news on signings. Especially during the offseason you can find the wings signing autographs at many public functions, malls, shows, and so on.
It's not tough to get the signature of all of the Red Wings, just don't expect to walk up to them after a game. Millions of fans, only a few dozen players, heh. They can't possibly meet the demands of everyone without some type of organization. Holding signing events ensures that people who really want the autographs get them, while those just doing it for the sake of doing it don't waste their time.

Don't know about the Red Wings, but I think most arenas strictly control access to players & locker room or other areas. In Tampa, you have to have a specially issued locker room pass to get down to see the players leaving after the game. Try practice sessions instead. The Washington Capitals are fantastic at signing for fans after practice.
Sign up for special events, too. We went to The Capitals' Hockey n' Heels program and met 6 players and we're going to their Charity auction on 3/18. Teams will offer special meet and greet sessions for season ticket holders as well.
Check the communtiy calendar on the Red Wings Website!

They do sometimes on their way out to their cars after the game, but not on the ice. Darren McCarty used to throw pucks into the crowd after warm-ups and Shanahan would throw one on his way off the ice, but since they are both gone, no one even does that on a regular basis anymore. The best place to get Red Wing autographs is at their training camp in Traverse City, MI in September. They usually all sign after practice if you sit and wait for them. I got several over the years.

After I don't know, but if you go up to them at the dressing room entrance (the one of the ice) most players will sign things you hand them (especially at practice). Bring your own sharpie.
