Quiet dark place....soft, soft music....comfortable sitting (or kneeling) position....now close your eyes....think skies, clouds, anything that floats....do you feel yourself floating too? Now you're ready to meditate.

Repeat as necessary till you find your center..then just go with the flow..........

Meditation is a very healthy exercise....for the body, the mind and the soul.

Try doing Anapanasati bavana ( meditation). That is especially taught by Buddha to relax your mind and overcome the problem that you are having (thoughts going all over the place). However, it can be little hard to start, but once you get used to it, you would love it. It even helps to attain Nirvana in the latter stage

It's perfectly normal for your thoughts to go all over the place. Once you become aware that your thoughts are drifting, acknowledge that in your head, and gently bring your thoughts back to centre.

When it happens again, re-centre again.

It's perfectly normal. Concentration will get better in time. Don't rush it.

Just continue meditating, later on your mind would no longer wander and transcend all other thoughts. Just do it.

just let the thoughts come and go,
casually observing them but not getting caught
up in the though.
when you notice yourself thinking,
come back to focusing on the breath.
i think focusing on the breath is best.
eventually you can learn to think less.
