I have a male betta in a 10 gallon tank and I noticed that he's been scratching his body against the rocks, which is a good indication that he has a parasite. I have 3 java ferns in the tank with him. Will it harm the plants if I add the meds to the tank? Or should I remove the plants?

That product is advertized as being safe for plants. I have not used it in a planted tank, but have used Malachite Green based products in planted tanks before with no apparent harm to the plants.

I have never heard of that medication before. Since my body fungus outbreak I have become a fan of Melafix. The maracyn(2) treatment failed and I had a dead fish, the melafix cleared up the problem on the other fish very fast and I love the stuff. Its safe for plants too.
