You just don't feel the joy of looking. I usually find stuff in the third or fourth place I look, but I look in 5 or 6 more places anyway, just for fun.

You never know what you'll find.

that's the definition of losing something. when you haven't lost it, you know exactly where it is and don't bother looking in places it's not.

now if you lose something, you generally look for it until you find it (unless you give up). once you found it, you know where it is, so if you were to continue looking for it you'd be engaging in very irrational behavior because you would know where a thing is and yet you intentionally look for it where you know it not to be. because you fear being committed to a mental institution, you stop looking for it when you find it.

this seems like a good place to throw in a related quote from the movie "the zero effect" but instead, i'll leave it to you to find that quote, not that it's lost.

Because after you find it you wouldnt keep looking for it would you... so that would be the last placed you looked.

I guess its because you find it there. Next time go to the last place you are planning to look, maybe you will get lucky.

Don't you just hate that? It's because you stop looking after you find it. Maybe try thinking where you would look after you exhaust all other options and start there first:)
