I just recently started wearing liquid eyeliner for special occasions, and I look really good with it on. I only wear it on the lid, not on the inside. But when I take it off, (I run a damp q-tip over it) the liner always gets into my actual eye in little strings that almost look like hair. It gets under my lids, and really builds up in the corner closest to my nose.

It's really gross, unsanitary, and it hurts! I've tried using eye-makeup remover, cotton balls, everything. Why does this happen, and how to I stop this?

Eye make up remover that's a bit oily usually dissolves liquid eyeliner the best. Wet a cotton pad with a bit of remover, hold on your closed lid for a few seconds so the remover can sink in a bit and wipe towards the outer part of your eye (away from your nose). There are also pre-soaked pads available-Almay makes a good one that also comes in a sensitive skin formula. Any residue can be washed off with water or wiped off with a damp towel. Good luck.

okay i have the same problem.

first i get a cotton ball and but Neutargena Oil Free Make Up Remover and try to take off as much makeup as i can.

then i go back with water on the same cotton ball and get the excess off.

but i always have some left underneath my eye.

so i dip a QTip in the make up remover and act like i am putting eyeliner on my lower lid. it removes all the make up.

sometimes i have cotton ball strings in my eye, so i make sure those are all out of my eye, then i am done!

hope i helped, cause i had the same problem!

Okay, this happens to me too......just shake up a bottle of Neutrogena Oil Free Eye Makeup remover and take off as much as you can. Now take a little oil free lotion and dap a q tip in it and take the rest off. Wash your face, and if its not all done repeat. Good luck!! I really hope it works for you!

Use ponds cold cream, put it over the eye liner before you take a shower and then while you are in the shower wash it off with soap and water on a wash cloth or whatever.

Okay, I've been wearing liquid eyeliner for a long time now, and I find it's easiest to get off with a warm wet facecloth, all at once, just wipe off.

Sorry if it doesn't help.

Plain soap and water if eye make remover doesn't work but rub gently thats what I use I don't want the oil from the remover on my lashes.

Milk base cleanser, lotion or make up remover. Its best. Upon applying, make sure that you face is dry. And leave it for a few seconds before you use cotton to remove it.

Anything milk base is good for base especially to those who have sensitive or dry skin.

Wash it off in the shower so it won't stay in your eye
