depending on the type of turtle

you need time to take care of the animal
you need to water them
they eat bugs and vegetables (lettus spinish tomato ect)
they need a large cage
clean it out weekly
and depending on the turtle a small little swiming area where a water turtle would be able to swim or just soak like he normaly would in the wild like 6 inches deep and 12 inches wide

No they are not realy hard to take care of they just need a little time now and then
