I went to a physical today and found that I have gotten 1 inch shorter from last year! I know this can happen w/ age, but I am only 23, I shouldn't be getting shorter yet! Should I? If anyone can tell me why or if something may be wrong please let me know. Thanks!

Poor posture. You probably arent standing up straight - its not that you shrank, you just carry yourself differently now.

Make sure to correct posture now, so you don't end up with back problems when you are 30.

While you sleep your spine has a chance to stretch and the discs between your vertebrae return back to their size, as the day goes on , they get compressed. Therefore you are shorter in the evening.

If the doctor didn't think anything of it, don't worry about it.

I have varied since I stopped growing from 5'5" to 5'7", depending on the scales. While they're supposed to be all the same, human error can account for such a minor change.

So I wouldn't worry about it at all.
