so everyone says they stayed at 70% effaced and 1 cm dialated for 3 weeks to a month i went to my appointment today and i dialated 1cm in 1 week so now im 2 cm dialated and 70%effaced so at the rate im going do you think it might be soon or did any of you have similar expieriences you could tell me about

The thing with pregnancy is you just dont know! With my first one I was in labor for 14 hours, went to the dr and was only dialated to 1!! He told me to go home, relax and come back when the contractions were more regular. 5 minutes out of the dr office I lose my mucus plug and wham my contractions are 5 minutes apart. I go to the hospital and about 5 hours later there is my new baby! With my last one I asked to take a shower to help with contractions so they checked me first and she said I was at 3 so it was fine. (this 8 hrs after my water broke) I took a shower 15 min maybe and I decide I want an epidural this time as I am pretty miserable. Dr comes in and I am at 10 no epidural no time for anything but baby.
Wish I could tell you it will be tonight or this weekend etc but with babies you just dont know!!!

There's really no way to tell. With my first I was 85% effaced but not dilated at all 3 days before he was born. With my second I was 1cm at 36 wks, 2cm at 37.5 wks, 3 cm at 38 wks and my daughter was born a few hours after the 38 wk appt. I don't know how far along you are, but it could be any time between now and a couple of weeks.

Every woman is different, but in my case, went to a reg. appt at 34 weeks and found out I was dilated to 1cm and 20% effaced. At the next appt. 2 weeks later I was 2cm. and 50% effaced. At 37.5 weeks I started having contractions( i had lost some of my mucus plug at this pt.) every 5 mins. and were lasting 45sec.-1 min. Called the hosp. where I was to deliver at, they told me to come in. Got there (5:00 am)they checked me and I was 3.5 cm. dilated and 80%effaced. Within the next 1 1/2 hrs. I was 5 and 100% effaced. By 1:55pm our baby girl was born. If you keep progressing like I do it's possible that by the end of next week or so you could be having your little bundle of joy! Good luck and best wishes!
(P.S.- Our bundle of joy is now 5yrs. and has a 2yr. old sis-born prematurely by c-sec. at 33.3 weeks.)

My son was due on October 3, and it just so happened to be my next weekly appointment. They did an exam to see if I was dialated or anything and there was no sign of labor anytime soon. Two nights later, around 1230am, I went the hospital because I was having really bad stomach pains (turned out to be the cord wrapped around his neck but didn't find out until he was born) so they kept me overnight. I woke up at 230am in hard labor. Dialated to 3cm by 730am and thats when they gave me the epidural. My step sister stayed 3-4cm dialated since she was 7 months, and had her son right on time. It's mother nature so who knows? Everyone's different lol.

I went in at 34 weeks I was 3cm dialated and 80% effaced my daughter was born 5 hours later.. You never can tell what you body has planned you could stay this way for weeks or you could go into labor at anytime...

How far along are you???I was 50 % effaced and 3 cm till my due date.And I found out I was that at 7 1/2 months.Good luck.

I was 2 cm dilated with both babies the week before they were born. I would have my bags packed and everything in order because its anytime now.
Congrats and Good Luck ... and just remember the jpy you will have seeing YOUR own baby at the end of the birth process

With one of my kids I walked around dilated to a 3 for 3 weeks! It varies greatly from baby to baby and person to person. YOu may go into labor tonite or it might be 2 weeks away. The baby will come when its ready.

You can never know with these things. I was 2cm and 60% three weeks before my due date and then every thing slowed down and my baby ended up coming a week late.
