Red Raspberry leaves are supposed to be a tonic for the uterus. Some believe that red raspberry tea should not be used during the first trimester. Some believe it should only be used during the last two trimesters to prepare the uterus for birth. I know an herbalist that told me it could have helped to prevent the miscarriage that I had at 8 weeks last year. I am now 7 months pregnant. My midwife knows about the benefits of it and advised me to drink it. I will be ordering Red Raspberry blend from a company called Nature's Sunshine. It has helped me with menstrual cramps in the past. Do a web search and you'll find more info.

I've never heard that one before. I'm sure it's not true, or Dr's would be informing their pregnant patients not to eat raspberries. That co-worker must be pretty gullible.

Raspberries are perfectly fine to eat during pregnancy. They are very good for you in fact.

I have 2 kids and I never heard that one before. I think that someone must be playing games with the pregnant sister-in-law :-)

it's crap. for some reason it still amazes me the things people come up with that you can't eat during pregnancy! Might as well stick yourself in a plastic bubble in the closet with water for 9 months. hehe.
EAT THE RASPBERRIES and enjoy them =)
they are good!!!

I have never heard of that. Unless you are allergic to raspberries, there shouldn't be a problem.

It's ridiculous! cause raspberries are fruit and fruits are really good for you and why would berries cause something like that when they are so good for you?

I don't think so. The only things my doctor told me to stay away from is obviously any drugs or alcohol, tuna fish ( only a little bit a week) and caffiene ( only a little bit a day if needed) Other than that, I think you're safe. :-)

So not true.. As far as I know the only thing you are not suppose to eat during pregnancy is any kind of raw fish or raw meat...
