Everyone knows who Einstein was. Everyone knows his famous equation "E=mc^2". Everyone has heard of Einstein's Theory of Relativity.

The missing matter was converted to energy and released in quanta of electromagnetic radiation such as photons. Most people don't realise they see a system described by the equation everyday---well, if it's sunny.
