It is a cheap guitar that is perfect for learning on. The tone and the looks arent the best but it is a greater learner guitar. go here: http://www.musiciansfriend.com/guitar/navigation/electric-guitars?N=100001+304275
You can select any price range you are looking for as well as any make or model. Musicians friend has good prices.. and you can order a free catalogue from them. Ok well good luck! i hope i have helped you :)

I own a $1100 fender strat and would never buy one again. Fender from the beginning made cheap guitars. It was the repair ease of a bolt on neck that made them popular. Ibanez are good but the $100 special is not even made of wood and the unfinished frets will hurt your hand (I love ibanez and gibson) Do like the other person mentioned...look for a used gibson or an Ibanez (Ibanez have VERY thin necks which is great for beginners),

The best guitars in my book are Gibsons and Fener Telecasters... I would go for the Fender, msotly because it is a reconizable name and they have great service and waranties on their guitars... I have a 2 Fenders, a Red and white Telecaster, from the early 60's that was made in the US and a newer Mexican made Stratocaster, the American made ones are so much better, but I got the Strat because I don't like to travel with my Tele because it's worth a lot (and I loved the color of the Strat, it's purple...) Sprry about the tangent... I hope that helps

OK man, think of it this way, usually more expensive guitars are better quality and everything else, and seeing the prices im assuming your a begginer. But take this into account Fender is better known and i personally like Ibanez which i use and trust, but if your just starting or something then go cheap and see how you like it.

what is your price range?what sound do you want?-Fender Stratocasters($200-$1500) are very distorted and wild with a hendrix whine,Fender Squiers($100-$250)are smoother but very similar style guitars.Ibanez($150-$850) are sharp and quick with a Carlos Santana pitch.Older Les Pauls($150-$1000) are very sooth and clean with a BB King sound.Deans($200-$600) have a Metal,Thick blared throaty sound like Dimebag Darell.Gibsons($150-$500)are very grunge with a Kurt Cobain style clean, clear voice.Harmonys($100-$550) are clean, smooth and creamy and play with a sweet earthy hippie tone.I own a Vinci signature edition($75) it has alot of possibilities and is avery wonderful starting guitar. My friend owns a Silvertone SIK-1 Shredder it is also very great guitar with a wide range of sound.I hope I have helped.(I would personaly go for the fender, but thats just me,do what fits your style and interests) Rock On!

If you are a beginner, why look at new stuff. Go to a pawn shop. See what they have in your price range. You might find something decent. I once found a Gibson SG that someone had stripped. THe pawn shop guy had no idea what it was. Got it for $100.

I would say if you're beginning, go for the Fender Stratocaster.
For cheaper options, go for the Squier Strat.
Fender makes awesome guitars though, so get one.
