Im 16 yrs old and i had my first gyno appointment today. i have never been to one before so im not sure if this is normal stuff that happens there or not. im so embarrassed and i cant stop crying. im sorry if this is too graphic...
when he (my gyno) was doing my breast test he rubbed my nipples to make them hard. my friend said that at her appointments her doctor wears gloves but mine never did. when he was down at my crotch he didnt have them on either. he rubbed my cli toris too and my friend said that is not normal at all. he also kept saying stuff about my pubic hair and said "wow you can tell ur a virgin!" he also kept putting his two fingers in me and would just leave them there.
my friend also said that there should have been a lady nurse in the room but there wasnt. im so embarrassed and i dont want to go back there.
what should i do? is this normal stuff that happens at these appointments? plz help. thank you.

No male healthcare provider should ever be alone with a female - -especially a minor. There should have been a female nurse or medical assistant with you in the room. What he did was not only wrong but illegal and needs to be reported. You may be saving others from the same thing that you've endured. I am so sorry, sweetie. Please tell your mom right away. The fact that you had the courage to come on here and ask, means you had a problem with the way you were treated, you dont have to put up with this nowadays, if YOU think the way way he treated you was wrong then report him. Don't be shy, its your body and you are right to protect it from anyone you dont trust......even a so called professional. Be strong and do what your heart tells you. Good Luck

I don't know. Not that those kind of appointments are ever really comfortable, but if the doctor made you feel that uncomfortable then I would suggest going to another one next time and also finding one that is a female.

That is definitely not normal. Pls talk to your mom about this if you haven't already.
When they do the breast exam they usually just work the fingers in circles and such to see if they find anything abnormal and along the side of the breast and that's it.
And as for that dr, I would never go to him. I go to a female gyn for my gyn needs.

That's really sick. That's disgusting. He should have been wearing gloves, and he shouldn't have been saying, "Wow! I can tell you are a virgin!". There is something wrong with that person. That's just sick. You need to start seeing a female gynecologist.

I have had 100's of internals (well, maybe not quite, but I have has lots) and that has NEVER happened! You should definatley report it. I am so sorry that it happened to you.

something was def not right about that..
and you should tell your mom and take action from there!!!
