A little of both. In our dreams we dream reality and a abstract dream. Those abstract dreams are the hardest to get a fix on and if your a sleep talker then it may sound gibberish.
I sleep talk when I am really tired. But mine were about things I've already done. Or issues I need to do. Or problems still bothering me that might be unresolved.

Nonsense...my wife does it often...and it is hilarious some of the stuff she comes up with. I can have an entire conversation with her, and she will have no recollection of it at all. I now know this...so I just chat with her when she does this just for kicks !!
