Hello, I am a sophomore in college at a HBCU. I wanted to know if there were any members in the Detroit area or any members period that will be willing to be a mentor to me if possible?

I suggest that you find a woman of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, INC that you know in your area and converse with them about being a 'mentor'.

And I say this in the nicest way possible. Do NOT come on soliciting help from just 'any' member.

Hello Ms.Ambition.
I think seeking a mentor is great, but I think your timing may be off. The only reason I say that is because you are seeking a specific mentor, so your intentions may been seen as trying to buddy up to members to gain membership. You may have noble intentions, but they will probably not be seen as such. If you are seeking to be mentored by one of my Sorors I suggest that you find one that you or your parents may already know (for example church members, community members, parents colleauges, former teachers).

Good luck. E-mail me if you need to.
