The day they stop intentionally putting "In God We Trust" on currency and stop saying "God Bless America" at the end of every speech is when the separation begins.

Homosexual people are just ordinary people who are sexualy dis-oriented. They should not be persecuted they should be accepted as people. You don't have to accept their behavior.

I don''t know what you mean by the statement that you support gays.

On the issue of gay marriage:

You must first understand that people do not have to get married. They can live together in whatever combination of genders or numbers they choose.

Marriage is the "IDEAL STANDARD" of behavior and is recognized as such by both society in general and religions. Societies discovered long ago that the best way to have and orderly and productive society was if one man and one woman vowed a lifelong commitment to each other and all the children this union produced.

So, this became the ideal. To promote the ideal, the couples who agreed to it received special recognition, special status and special rights. This marriage was blessed and endorced by the church or town officials.

Despite the fact that too many people choose not to marry or too many people decide to divorce, the ideal standard does not change.

Suddenly, a few years ago, homosexuals began to press, politically, for the right to marry.
Since two people of the same gender are not the ideal to permit this to happen would destroy the ideal. There can only be one ideal standard that is the best. They can have civil unions or anything else but marriage. To make marriage mean anything other than one man/one woman would render marriage meaningless.

Just because homosexuals or anyone else decide they want to change something that has been the ideal for thousands of years does not mean that those who resist that change are evil.

I think they should be divided but really church and state are not. It seems half the issues they talk about are related to the common Christian understanding. I'm not gay but I think why not have civil unions for people that are. This has nothing to do with how your church see's marriage and just gives couples whom are gay equal rights for taxes. why not i care not
It seems so much of what goes on in politics now adays is about how people hate one another can we not transgress such silly behavior such as grouping people like chickens at the farm??
One must wonder about our society when so much of it is about putting the others against the wall.
I think that when Jesus comes back like every one is talking about he's heading straight for George W. Bush's office (and Dick Chaney) and he's going to turn that table upside down which will really make the SS real mad and they will crucify him again but I'll be there with purple mandrake which I shall soak on a cloth dipped in vinegar and shoved into his face with a spear and this will bring Jesus under for not less then three days and he will wake up fine and he shall spend his days plotting against the corrupt high king George which will bring a downfall to the white house upon the end of one generation. George better watch out for the time is near!

Yes Church and State are divided. The government does not tell you how to worship. Call it a civil union and let gays be just as miserable as married couples and have all the fun of divorces. Marriage is a union blessed by god. Gays coming together is in no way reflective of that.

I'm not sure how big you are into history but what Jefferson had in mind was that the state should not interfere with the church (as it's doing now). I can give you a list of quotes from our founding fathers that prove that they where Christians and that they where opposed to the idea of the goverment messing with religion like it did in England. Moral is the base of all laws! Morality found in many religious practice! If Church and State is so separated, the morale of our society will be worse! So it must not be completely separated! Gay symptom is abnormal - we may sympathize with them and may find some other solutions for them; but, if you allow the abnormalities spread, the normal will soon be abnormal! The the definition for normal will change if abnormal is 60% and normal is 40%!

I'd say right now they are so intertwined with each other in the US Govt. that it's hard to tell where one begins & the other ends.

I am disappointed that cultists such as Christians try to get their views put into the government.
