I am having a hard time with this one. I am not a fan of his, but he went from country to singing stuff that I don't understand at all. What century is he living in? "I love you like red on a rose, like all little children love pennies?" What the freak? No child I know (and I know many) likes pennies, they like dollars or silver money, no pennies. My 10 year old said "I don't like pennies". I didn't like pennies. It's like he is at some "cafe" from the "so I married an axe murder" movie, where they all snap their fingers... and the woman on the video dancing and the roses all over the ground... it just is so stupid. My husband always has been a "huge fan" even so far as to say he is the "best" in country music... then he came out with this... and I said "how do you like him now?" he said "he's gonna have to straighten up" and I agree. Come on Alan. My husband read the other day that Alan wanted a more mature audience.... hmmm then go sing Opera I say.

I love you like red on a rose is like saying I love you just the way you are. I met Alan 20 years ago backstage when he was just getting started. I asked to borrow his pen that he was using to sign autographs. He was startled yet complied. He was very pleasent and even said your welcome when I handed it back to him. (Do you know he is bald on top?) And about pennies, I loved them too as a child. My favorite memory of an Uncle would rattle change in his pockets all time then give us change! Pennies use to buy candy!

Like red on a rose
When your lips first smiled at me
I was captured instantly
To each his own
Like blue in the sky
The gaze of your willing eyes
Touched something deep inside
The truth be known
That I love you like all little children love pennies
And I love you ‘cause I know that I can’t do anything wrong
You’re where I belong
Like red on a rose
And I love you like all little children love pennies
And I love you like good times of which I’ve known many
And I love you ‘cause I know you give me a heart of my own
You make my blood flow
Like red on a rose
he was talking about his wife like red on a rose

FIRST OF ALL ALAN JACKSON DID NOT WRITE THAT SONG. IF YOU HAD A SONGWRITERS HEART INSTEAD OF A CRITIC YOU WOULD UNDERSTAND THAT WHEN I WAS A CHILD I LOVED PENNIES AND A REAL ROSE IS ALWAYS CONSIDERED RED WHEN WE THINK OF ONE SO THERFORE LIKE RED ON A ROSE IS WHAT HIS LOVE IS FOR HER ITS REAL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! HELLO!!!!
