Congratulation on moving a step higher in your education! Honor classes are not easy, English class is even harder. I remember switching from regular chemistry to honor chemistry, there are a lot to know and to remember. What I did in that summer, I went to the local university and check out college chemistry books. Guess what, since then on, chemistry is one of my favorite classes. For honor english, I recommend you to ask the previous year students in your school about what books to read for sophmore year and from from certain teachers. Different teachers have their preferences in books in their classes beside the required books like Mcbeth and all those required books. I also recommend you to read these books in this comming summer as pleasure reading, that way you can enjoy your summer and at the same time you can get ahead of your classmates. Enjoy your readings!

Get a list from the English department head. Find out who that is from your current English teacher. I'm sure your school puts out a reading list. If not, then check out on line recommended reading lists for sophomore honors English Students.

Shakespeare, Chaucer, Yates, Keats, Milton, Dante, Donne, Poe, Lewis, Melville. Ask the teacher teaching the course. These are some of the writers I would focus on, but I'm not teaching the course.
