Well to me I think it matters the situation see like in a situation with the raiders Russell would be the better fit because he will be able to get Randy Moss the ball, which would make the deepball a huge threat, so in that case Russell is a better QB
but Russell is all tallent though, he makes alot of mistakes, I'd say more than Troy Smith and Brady Quinn
I think that Brady Quinn is the better QB, but what gets me is all the hype about him, everybody says so much about the system they play in, but if you remember Michigan and USC and a couple other teams were able to shut down that offense easily, Michigan players even said that there offense wasn't hard to understand.
So I think of it is just hype, for both of them too much maybe. I wouldn't be surprised if Drew Stanton ends up being better than both of them

I think that they are two different styles. I don't think either of them will have successful starts in the NFL. Brady Quinn is overrated tremendously. First, he plays for Notre Dame. Somebody said that he played a harder schedule??? He played USC and Michigan every year. So what?? They usually lost. That's the equivilent of having a good RPI but going 0-5 against top 50 teams (NCAA Basketball). Now, Jamarcus Russell has a huge arm and can move. But, he doesn't have Michael Vick, Vince Young, Donovan McNabb, or maybe not even Daunte Culpepper speed. He is also overrated because of his "athleticism." LSU is one of those teams that always has difficult teams on their schedule and usually wins a few. To weigh the two players, I would say Quinn definitely has more experience and Russell has more upside. All these arguements about pro-style offense... That just means that Quinn has had two years and hasn't learned it well enough to win the big game. The Raiders will draft Russell. But I personally think Drew Stanton will have the best rookie season for a quarterback! I hope you learned some.

Brady Quinn is much better. He has played in a pro style offense and is ready to step into the NFL as a rookie. He can analyze defenses, has great technique, and has all the intangibles such as toughness, leadership, etc. Russell may have the bigger upside with his huge frame and rocket arm, but he is no where as near as good as Quinn. Russell has better physical qualities than Quinn, but he can't read defenses, has poor technique, and is not ready for the NFL as Brady Quinn is.
Basically, Russell has better potential but is not as ready for the NFL as Quinn is.

Jamarcus Russell is definitally the better qb. He is proven with both the passing and running game. Quinn is overrated anyway. He gets to much credit for playing for Notre Dame

Quinn. Better QB. they only hype Russell with the black card. Not being racist, but it's true. Quinn is, and will always be better. Russell, remember, only started 1 season.

i am a notre dame fan and i think brady quinn has a better potential based upon the type of offense that charlie weis runs. most of his playsets comes from his time with the patroits and that has given quinn a two season advantage in running a pro-style offense so thats why i think he has better potential than russell but it ultimately comes down to which teams will draft them and the type of offense they run

Ryan Leaf. Both of these guys have bust written all over them. Quinn is undersized and chokes in the big one, and if Russell is so good how come no one was talking about him prior to LSU's win in the Sugar Bowl.

russell. quinn sucks he cant win and is a wannabe tom brady. every one thinks hes ready for the nfl because he went to notre dame and played under that charlie weis dude. if you watch him play hes scared. if a defender breathes on him he starts getting so nervous and just turns the ball over. hes a little bit*h and is going to suck.

Quinn. Not a matter of who is a better athlete or guy overall.
Quinn has played better teams, runs a more sophisticated offense.
