it has 320 gigs, 1024MB of seed memory,intel cor duo prosseser, and a flat panel moniter. it also has windows vista.

The verdict on Vista is still out. You may need more memory since I find a gig to be right for XP and Vista uses even more RAM to run it's more robust GUI. As far as HP goes, well, it's a Compaq with a new brand name and I'm not a big fan of Compaq. I build my own computers so they're easier to update. One of the biggest drawbacks to out of the box computers like this is that you have to use their parts to upgrade it and the chassis doesn't suit upgrades as new technologies emerge.

I wouldn't have gotten Vista yet just because there are so many bugs and security issues with it. I personally would have waited a few months for them to clear out. The computer on the other hand looks fine. I would probably use 2 gigs of RAM with Vista for the best performance.

Aside from the HP part, yeah sure.
*Edit* To clarify, I'm anti-HP for a reason that probably doesn't matter to you. I don't like that they lock the bios preventing you from altering the FSB and overclocking your CPU. Other than that HP is good as the next guy I guess.

Sure.
It is not the best, but it is darn good for what you will be using it for. You should probably get some more memory installed though.
Don't let the Anti-HP crowd get to you, most of the main computer manufacturers, like Dell and Gateway, use similar components.
