No......you don't..all you have right is ....proving you know nothing about basketball...a great b-ball mind once said...
all the posters that think you could have kept Shaq and rebuilt the team are idiots...Doc let Mitch know he wanted to rebuild around Kobe, Shaq needled Doc about getting the extention every day during camp in Hawaii before the last season he played for the Lakers...he also wanted a huge contract, was carrying a lot of weight , and was not finishing seasons healthy (as evidenced by his not playing whole seasons the last two also) would you have paid a huge contract to keep Shaq, made Kobe unhappy, and had no money left over to get players to rebuild? the uneducated fan would say yes...what the uneducated fan doesnt know is that Shaq could have come back but for less than he wanted and without the 'franchise' tag, of course everyone knows the situation with him and kobe, and coach was tired of that whole deal also...it could have continued had they beat Detroit, but probably better it worked out this way...the Mavs wanted to move Nash, Lakers wanted to move Shaq and still get something...the Heat came up with a package and Shaq got to go to Miami, got the nice contract, and play with a contender...Odom was the only part that fit good enough to stay...if they hadnt all moved then, the Lakers would be a few years behind in the rebuilding process, probably contended but not won championships (they were still weak at the 1 ,3 , and 4 spots and would have had no money for a big time player to fit in) and Shaq would have stayed big and hurt late in the seasons...Ive heard it from Dr Buss's mouth that he loved when they run, like the old 'showtime' teams...and heard it from people in the organization that he likes kobe...and for those that werent around, and have only watched bball for the last 20 years or less, Doc has already made the Lakers over twice into dominant teams since he bought the organization...who else can say that? so they have to rebuild again...at least this organization knows what thats about...has a team that you root for been dominant in two different recent decades, or a history of being dominant in three? I didnt think so...

Hell, Kobe is good but the Lakers just plainly suck right now. They have a young team and right now they are under development. If the Lakers became more experienced, they could win a title without Shaq. Kobe is still probably the best, but he can't score 100 pounts everynight.

alpha why you bashing on the guy for asking a question? also shaq did NOT go to a contender, the team GOT a contender, if you dont remember after that trade all that was on espn on playoff talks was how "of course now that shaqs in miami they are contenders for sure" and even before he went to miami, they were talking about how any team he went to would instantly become a contender.
Kobe is an arrogant player, no doubt he has the skills, but his inablity to be a team player, will be what eventually leads to him never wining a championship wihtout a bigger threat at his side.

Kobe felt real salty when the Heat won the champoinship last year. Guess any guard can replace kobe in the lineup and still get the same results. Thing is Shaq didn't even get MVP honors.. Wade did!

They gained it jointly. you moreover mght gotta understand maximum NBA very final MVPs are massive men. basically 13 guards have gained the Finals MVP. Shaq replaced into purely too dominant that element, and Kobe replaced into youthful. regardless of the reality that, Kobe nonetheless averaged 20+ ppg. And in 2006, Shaq did not play that extensive of a place, and the reason at the back of it is using the fact he's ageing. each and every physique is ignoring data whilst they say Shaq gained the Lakers' 3-peat by using himself.

Not really..........Shaq wanted out because of Kobe so then traded him. One person, even Kobe, can't command a team to do something that they don't want to do. Trading Shaq was Shaq's decision, not Kobe's.
