overall.. I'm a fan of Jefferson (assuming he would drop the whole slavery thing, but he seemed pretty progressive, so I don't think he would have a problem)...
he seemed to have a liberal mindset, coupled with a common sense approach to solving problems...

I would bring back Abraham Lincoln. He was the president that ended slavery, a horrible thing, and he unified our nation. He worked hard to become the president, and he did a very good job. If he were to handle the Iraq situation, I think he would know what to do. He would make the right decision and be able to do the right thing.

Teddy Roosevelt. He was the only man in the 20th century to take on the power of big businesses. America's social safety net has been gutted in the past three decades, he would reverse the trend.

Jefferson--he was a genius, plain and simple. To all those who think intelligence is overrated, my answer is that highly educated deep thinkers are more likely to make good decisions. Poor decision making skill is what our current president suffers from.

I wouldn't want any of the living presidents back in office because they're getting quite old.
And I sure don't want any dead ones in office because they'd stink up the place.

Franklin D. Roosevelt - ... he has consistently been ranked as one of the three greatest U.S. presidents in scholarly surveys.
For all the reasons mentioned in Wikipedia.

Teddy Roosevelt. Absolutely everything about the man impresses me and his 1907 speech on immigration makes more sense today than ever!

History will prove that Bill Clinton was a monumental President. He could balance a check book.
