Give some more details. Anything signed ever?
Verbal contract with any witnesses? How long in there? What is he suing for?

Anyone can sue you but in the state of Fl. you need a legal signed document a lease.... Now the owner of the house can start eviction on anyone living in the house to get them out. As far as money goes if there is no lease he can't charge you for anything. landlords can't even charge you a dime if there was no move in inspection sheet much less a lease. How would the judge know how much they charged you with out a lease. I was a property manager for five years I know...

If you're living in a property without the landlord or owner's permission, it's still called trespassing. Rather than being sued, you're likely to be evicted.
