Go to the source and get a spyware remover. Spybot is a good one. You can get a registry cleaner too. Antivirus software isn't cheep though. You'll probably have to pay for that one unless your going to school and students get a free download or unless your job will pay for it.

If you want to:

Uninstall programs: Start, Control Panel, Add or Remove Progams

Rearrange items on your hard disk to make programs run faster: Start, Control Panel, Performance and Maitenance

Clean up your Hard Disk: Same as above but click Free up Space on your hard disk.

Delete Cookies: On Internet Explorer-Tools, Internet Options, delete cookies.

Delete Temp Int. Files: same as above but click Delete Files

That should help you a little bit, and your computer should run like a dream, keep in mind these are all for Windows XP and less, they may work on Vista but I havent used Vista yet.

Go to Start menu > All Programs > Accessories > System Tools > Disk Cleanup. It will take a while for Windows to scan for temporary files. Be sure sure to check "Temporary Files," Temporary Internet Files," "Download Programs" and "Recycle Bin." Do not check "Compress Old Files." After you made your selection, click [O.K.]. Do not delete any registry keys if you do not know exactly what you are doing.

well first of all what windows program are you running? and in your Internet explorer bar, if you click on tools, then click on Internet options, it will bring up a window with tabs at the top, click on the first tab, it's General. and it will open a window that has a place that you can click on to delete cookies or temporary Internet files. click on them both to remove them.
that will help your computer run faster. but as far as helping you on the other registry files. I need to know which windows program you are running first. Vista does things a little different. but either one, I could help ya. if I knew how to get the info to ya.. good luck.

Open IE, Tools, Internet Options, Delete Cookies, Delete Files (check offline also).
Start, Run, type %temp%, Delete all files and folders. Some may say that they are in use, skip them umtil the next time you do this procedure.

Now run something like Spybot and Adaware, and virus scan.

This should get rid of the majority of problems.

Good Luck

CCleaner (for registry and lots of other stuff)
AdAware (for spyware)
AntiVir or AVG free (for viruses. Apparently AVG free also does spyware)
