I have a problem with feeling sleepy almost all the time I am awake everyday. Once in a great while I will have a day where I am alert good and feel great for no reason. Cannot find a reason for it. I try to track any habits that may or may not be a cause without success. I get plenty of sleep, I do eat a lot of fast food but I also eat a lot of fruit, like oranges, everyday. Waking up in the morning though is hard and even after I get going, abut 4 hours into my day I will just feel sleepy and yawn. I work a physical labor job and I try to exercise on weekends. I do smoke but have all my life and have had this problem before I started even. with out caffeine my days would drag in misery. Does anyone think This may be a medical condition ? Any tips for me ? .............. I feel it's not right that after work I can come home and lay down and sleep straight through til the next morning if I let myself because I don't seem to have the energy.

I have this problem, I am tentatively diagnosed as type 2 bipolar with severe bouts of depression which can cause constant fatigue and not enjoying the things you normally like to do etc. So depression is possible, many people manifest different symptoms so if you have felt differently or behaved differently lately you might consider it.
Also fatigue that is constant could be related to thyroid problems ... other symptoms for this I believe can include thinning hair, night sweats, weight changes and a variety of others I can't recall off hand.
Those are a couple of the things that I can think of from my own endeavors to cure myself ... or get help. My doctor has just prescribed a stimulant for me to help with this, keeping my fingers crossed here! I am tired allllll of the time no matter how much I have slept, I also had a sleep study done to rule out sleep apnea ... so research those three: depression, thyroid problems and sleep apnea. Good luck, and don't let a doctor tell you it is just normal...it is NOT normal to be tired like this.

You may be lacking Vitamin B in your diet. Vitamin B will give you that boost you need during the day. Also, keep your bedtime the same and the time you get up everyday the same. This way your body will adjust and "know" when it's time to sleep. Caffeine will prevent you from falling asleep sooner than not ingesting caffeine. Caffeine also prevents you from reaching that deep sleep experts say we all need which will make you have that tired feeling during the day.

I was having the same types of issues, so I went to the doctor. Turns out I was diagnosed with depression. I have been taking antidepressents for it, but we are still playing with the dosage to regulate my symptoms. It might be worth it to go get checked out.
Thinking back on it, I have been tired from my teenage years on. Just remember that depression can go undiagnosed for years.

Try taking a nap in the middle of the day, or talk to your doctor. I think you have a medical problem
