I would say the top five CSUs are (not in any order):
Cal Poly SLO
CSU Long Beach
CSU Fullerton
Cal Poly Pomona
San Diego State University
You can try looking at the ranking by the US News. Although not everyone agree on the methodology of the ranking system, schools do not hestitate to metion their rank if they like their placement.

These are all great schools. Pick the one you can get into and the one where you will be happy with the location. Then look at the classes offered in your field of study.
All are held in High Regards. But some are tops in certain fields more than the others, so search that out too.
